Hello Sweet Peeps,

Some of you may remember a post that I wrote way back in 2013 which was all about a Roadside Find that I could not salvage. The original post was from my old blog – you can read about here if you would like. The short story is that I tried really hard to resurrect a sweet old table that had loads of worthy character but sadly it was so water affected – that it could not be done. It was one of those DIY / Rescue missions stamped with a big fat fail!! So I kept the cigar legs instead, hoping that oneday I would get to use them somehow.

That day has come.

I made a cement round top using a plastic tub as a mould and with my hubby’s help attached my favourite cigar legs. I feel the evolution of this table has once again come full circle whilst staying true to its rustic beginnings but with an added industrial / modern style edge…

Resurrecting beautiful old things are so, so good for the soul… would you agree? Without a doubt, this coffee table is now one of my favourite pieces, I own.

Hi Sarah, I love the simplicity of concrete and how flexible it is to shape. I can’t wait till we get our polished concrete floors here, it’s the simplistic finish this home needs. Also love wood and concrete together! Pairing it with big chunky rugs in my minds eye already ?. Have a lovely weekend gorgeous! X

  3. You so have to do DIY because I need one of these beautiful stools in my life hun. It is seriously divine you clever woman. I hope you have had a fabulous weekend gorgeous girl xx

  4. Hi Sonia, I might think of an easier version to do for this DIY Cement table…the screwing into cement part wasn’t easy (hence the needing my hunky hubbies help :-)). Thanks so much for popping by, leave it with me. xx
