“Zhoosh-ing the house”

[gn_heading style=”1″]”Zhoosh-ing the house”[/gn_heading]

I must confess that I often get easily distracted on cleaning days at my home. Now please don’t get me wrong- I do actually love my house when its looking its lovely-best but truthfully- with two young boys who will most likely mess it all up again in less than 5 minutes flat- I find it quite tricky to keep focused on mundane tasks! Who knew?? I need to shake things up with at least some sort of entertainment…  Now please tell me I am not alone here, do you too?

[gn_heading style=”1″]Make an occasion of it![/gn_heading]

For me personally, I guess it also has allot to do with that all important “zhoosh-ing the house” which if you’re anything like myself- it’s a very serious task and needs to be especially hands on. There is always some show and tell involved, a little music maybe even some daggy dancing 😉 and you cannot just imagine how things might look a certain way- you must physically do! I like to test-out little styling rules and theories to see which I agree with most or frankly not at all. I also like to play with tones and textures and sometimes it can appear that not much cleaning gets done at all ;-0. The way I see it is, as long as the cleaning gets done- why not reward oneself with a little “Zhoosh-ing About” at the same time- if you don’t already – you really must try it sometime!

[gn_heading style=”1″]How things change![/gn_heading]

Anyhoo, thought I would share with you how things can change around here… I do love to mix and match decor-items around especially if you end up liking that particular look best; If you don’t like it, which does happen- you can always change it back to how it looked before… having said that I do genuinely believe that “A change is as good as a holiday” albeit even a small one- don’t you think??

Yellow flowers bring such a sunny feel to a home…

Love how Autumn- styled neutrals add warmth

Hmm… At the time, believe I was temporarily enjoying a busy vintage phase. As you do!

Our current look- which is actually my fav to date…I love how the ladder is now functional as opposed to being plain decorative.

Depending on who is popping over, I might flip this wall art over to its spotty side and add a flamboyant cushion. xx
